Bastiaans Bazar

Last weekend we attended the second edition of Bastiaan's Bazar. The whole weekend everyone was welcome to shop in Zuiveringshal West in Amsterdam. By arrival we received an exclusive Bastiaan van Schaik shopping bag inclusive a fashion voucher worth €10 to spend.
Bastiaan's Bazar is a fashion market where you can find designercollections, limited editions, exclusive samples and gadgets. During Bastiaan's Bazar visitors can find many special pieces of high end labels, young designers, exclusive, yet affordable items, pre-collection items and vintage must-haves!

During this event all visitors could enjoy the multi-brand fashion show that took place. Of all exhibitors, there are exhibits, selected and styled by Bastiaan van Schaik.  The show consists of a walking fashion models parade moves beside the stands and outside the building.
Famous designers such as Thomas and Liza of ONTFRONT and Mada van Gaans also participate.

Launch Gladly magazine

Last Friday we went to the launch of the amazing Spiritual online lifestyle magazine "Gladly".
As a woman the world expect you to be a business woman, a mother, a wife, friend, daughter etc... and when do they have time for themselves?

The Gladly-woman is the modern woman who is looking for balance in her life. She wants to enjoy life the fullest and embrace herself, that is the only way she can be herself. 

Gladly is about spirituality your inner self but also about your appearance, beauty, fashion. The whole package. 

We love the concept because there is no other magazine like this and it's interactive. You can also ask questions to professionals. Gladly Magazine also has a Foundation, the foundation is all about kids, helping them, support them etc...

Fashion show Raak Amsterdam

Yesterday we visited the 7th edition of RAAK Amsterdam. Jos van Raak, owner of the well-known fashion shop, gave an impressive fashion show and presented his Winter collection for 2010/2011. The location was transformed into a winter décor and there was even snow. The show consisted of various collections and several colors. Nude, emerald green, powder pink and once again there were shimmering sequins.

Jos always invites a lot of Dutch celebrities. A few celebrities such as Lieke van Lexmond, Froukje de Both and Anouk Smulders showed a variety of items on the catwalk.

The show consisted of 3 different rounds. Various sets from the store, with State-of-the-art collection winter trends for 2010/2011. The second round consisted of 18 touch designs made of satin silk, crepe Georgette and sequins with a powerful touch and female forms. The third round was closed by the bride in a lovely sweet wedding dress with flowers.

The theme of the show was ' strong and tender ... '

After the show the crowd had the opportunity to visit the 'Mini Raak' , a 'little Raak shop', where the crowd could buy some items from the fashion show.

NEW! PRIVATE SHOPPING @ RAAK AMSTERDAM

Customers of RAAK Amsterdam can make an appointment for a night private shopping with girlfriends including bubbles and snacks . Jos van Raak will present and give each customer styling advice. 

Alice in cakeland

Friday September 3, Alice in cakeland opened her doors from their first shop. As soon as you walk through the door you think you are in the wonderland of THE Alice herself.

The store is pink/purple with an amazing artwork on one wall. You see cupcakes all over the place and they are really delicious. Rebecca, married to a Dutch man, came two years ago to the Netherlands. She missed the real American cupcakes so she started her own American cupcake company and the business is going very well.

During the 12th edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW) her cupcakes were soled next to the champagne, for the downtown programm of July's edition she made a huge cupcake dress for Maison de Bonneterie. All the cupcakes in the shop are fresh baked. You can visit the shop from Wednesday till Saturday at the Van Barneveldstraat 117 in Rotterdam.
